Overview
Offline Digest is a free, personal beta operated by Brian Luscombe. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and how to delete it. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to send you your digest, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Your email address, obtained when you sign in with Google. We use it to identify your account and to deliver your digest.
- The Instagram handles you choose to follow.
- Your filter prompts and digest preferences (cadence, subject, limits).
- Basic run logs — records of when digests ran, how many posts were seen/kept, and any errors, so the service can work and be debugged.
How we use it
Your information is used only to generate and email your digest, to operate and debug the service, and to contact you about your account if needed. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles for resale.
Where it lives
Your account data (email, handles, prompts, preferences, and run logs) is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. The service is hosted on Cloudflare.
Third parties we use
To run the service we rely on a few third-party providers, who process the limited data needed to do their job:
- Google OAuth — for sign-in. We receive your email address; we don't get your Google password.
- Cloudflare — for hosting and the D1 database.
- StableEmail — a third-party email relay used to send your digest emails.
- A third-party Instagram scraper — used to fetch the recent public posts of the accounts you follow.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Data is shared with the third-party providers above only as needed to operate the service.
Cookies
Offline Digest uses a single HttpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing brianrluscombe@gmail.com — just ask, and your account and data will be removed.
